YOUR PRIVACY

What Captr does with your documents.

Captr receives your documents by email, stores the originals securely, extracts key business data, and makes them available to you and your authorised bookkeeper. We never read, sell, or share your documents with any third party.
All documents are encrypted at rest and in transit using industry-standard encryption. They are stored in isolated company-specific storage — no other Captr client can access your records.
Only you and the email addresses you have authorised on your account. Your bookkeeper can be added as an authorised sender. Captr staff do not access client documents except to resolve a technical issue at your request.
Documents are retained for a minimum of 5 years in line with SARS requirements. You may request deletion of your account and all associated records at any time by emailing support@captr.co.za.
Your account is frozen and no new documents are processed. Your existing records remain accessible for 30 days after cancellation. To cancel, email support@captr.co.za with the word CANCEL in the subject line.
No. Captr does not sell, rent, or share your data with any third party for any reason. We use Supabase for secure storage, Google Vision for document reading, and OpenAI for data extraction — all under strict data processing agreements.
Yes. Captr operates in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). Your personal information is collected only for the purpose of providing the service, stored securely, and never used for any other purpose.
Each photo or PDF you send to your Captr address must contain one document only. This ensures every document is captured, classified, and stored correctly. If multiple documents are detected in one photo, Captr will ask you to resend them separately.
Starter plan: 1 document per email. Pro plan: 4 documents per email. Builder+ plan: 7 documents per email. Each document must be a separate attachment — one photo or PDF per document.
Captr will email you immediately explaining what went wrong and asking you to resend a clearer photo or PDF. Your original document is always saved — nothing is lost.
